Authorities are actively searching for Lauren Blackburn, a 23yearold junior at Princeton University, who has been missing since the evening of April 19. Blackburn was last seen near Firestone Library around 6 p.m., wearing blue jeans with torn knees, a yellow tshirt, a black zippered hooded sweatshirt, and blue flatbottom shoes. Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing approximately 170 pounds, Blackburns disappearance has prompted an intensive search operation.
The Department of Public Safety initiated the search on April 21, focusing efforts on Lake Carnegie, a reservoir located about a mile from the campus library. This area became a focal point after Blackburns phone was last pinged nearby. Despite deploying drones, sonar equipment, and K9 units, authorities have yet to uncover any conclusive evidence regarding Blackburns whereabouts.
Blackburn, a native of Corydon, Indiana, is recognized for his academic achievements, having been awarded both the National Merit and Gates Scholarships. He previously contributed as a features writer for Princetons student newspaper. In response to the situation, Princetons Vice President for Student Life, W. Rochelle Calhoun, has extended emotional support resources to the campus community and urged everyone to keep Blackburn in their thoughts.
