Ford Motor Co. has announced a recall of 272,827 vehicles, including Broncos and Mavericks, due to a defect in the 12volt batteries supplied by Camel Battery of China. The issue, involving internal manufacturing defects such as weld failures, can lead to vehicles stopping unexpectedly or failing to start. Although no accidents, fires, or injuries have been reported, the affected vehicles were manufactured between February 2021 and October 2023. citeturn0news12

In response to these issues, Ford has committed to reviewing and improving its recall decisionmaking procedures and will be monitored by an independent third party. The National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration NHTSA mentioned earlier recalls of Ford Bronco Sport SUVs and Maverick pickups, where some vehicles completely lost power without warning. The solution includes software updates to improve battery problem detection and provide early warnings to drivers. citeturn0news12

This recall is part of a series of safety concerns affecting the Ford Bronco. In January 2025, Ford recalled 149,449 Broncos from model years 2021 through 2024 due to rear shock absorbers that may corrode and fail, resulting in detachment of the external reservoir. This defect can create a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash. Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue. citeturn0search5

Additionally, in October 2024, Ford recalled certain 20242025 Bronco vehicles due to the front upper control arm ball joint nut not being installed or tightened properly. This could allow the front upper control arm to detach from the knuckle assembly, leading to a loss of vehicle steering and control. Dealers will inspect and verify that the ball joint fastener is tightened properly, replacing parts as necessary. citeturn0search0

Ford has also addressed issues with the rear quarter glass panels in certain 20232024 Bronco models, where improper installation could allow them to detach, creating a road hazard. Dealers will inspect and reinstall or replace the rear glass panels as necessary. citeturn0search8

Furthermore, select fourdoor 20232024 Ford Bronco models have been recalled over a malfunctioning child safety lock that allows a rear door to be opened from the inside when the lock is in the ON position, increasing the risk of injury. Dealers will inspect and replace the rear door latch as necessary. citeturn0search10
